How to Make Moon Soup

If the moon's gravity effects the water of the oceans, and as humans, we are made up of mostly water, wouldn't it be fair to say that we are highly effected by the moon as well? When that rush of emotion or energy within you and outside of you becomes omnipresent, we have no choice but to surrender, to slow down and to root in the very existence of now.

There are 8 major moon phases and connecting with the moon can put us in touch with her cycles and rhythms helping us manifest and create our ideal life. The moon is a magical cosmic timer. The New Moon is the time to plant the seeds of your future dreams. It is a time to create a clean slate and unveil our potential. During the Waxing Crescent, you are meant to explore your dreams and have the courage to move forward. The First Quarter tests our commitment to seeking out these dreams. Perhaps there are challenges that come up that questions our confidence. But then arrives Gibbous, which reminds us to stay on course. We have the ability to tweak, adjust and hone in on what we are going after. Next up, the Full Moon, a time where we become extra emotional. It is the make it or break it moment. We offer up both forgiveness and gratitude, and we accept the results. Breathe says the Disseminating Moon. A time for a long, deep exhale. This is the moment to relax, accept and regroup. Nothing is permanent. The Third Quarter Moon is our chance to check in, re-evaluating where we are and creating a sense of balance and trust. And lastly, the Balsamic Moon. A time of release, healing, soothing and surrender.

Even just sharing this process feels exhausting. Despite what you might believe, we are very intuitive beings and deep down, we know that what we want exists within us, but we must take time to nurture those dreams, thoughts, stories, feelings, the ebb and flow to access that information. Nourishing the body with clean whole foods allows us to create clarity as we journey within. Our broth elixirs are great for blending with any vegetable to make a quick and easy soup that calms the waves within as we navigate the life we live.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 shallot
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 OWL Venice bone broth elixir
  • 2-3 celery root
  • 2-3 stalks of celery
  • 1 small organic potato
  • 1 bunch swiss chard
  • Fresh thyme
  • 2 tsp cumin
  • Salt to taste

INSTRUCTIONS:

Start by peeling the celery root & potatoes and chopping into cubes.

Coat the cubes in olive oil and spread them on a sheet pan.

Roast in the oven at 425 degrees for 30-40 minutes, until golden brown and tender

In a large pot over medium heat, add 2 tbsp of Olive Oil and peeled & minced shallots. Sauté over medium heat for 1-2 minutes.

Add chopped up celery and sauté for another minute.

Add OWL Venice broth elixir of your choice, and bring to a simmer.

Add potatoes, celery root from the oven, as well as chopped swiss chard and allow to simmer for 20-30 minutes. (Add water or more broth as needed)

While everything is simmering, add fresh thyme in a cheese cloth to simmer & unlock amazing flavor and benefits.

Once everything has simmered, turn off the heat and allow to cool for a couple minutes.

Add everything into a blender, and blend until smooth.

Transfer back into the pot and add salt and cumin to taste!

Heat back up, top with fresh thyme and enjoy!
